URGENT NOTICE: Postponement of Founders Day Assembly 2020.

Dear Old Boys, former Staff Members, and current long serving Staff Members

On the new date and at the new time of Friday 25th September at 1:30 PM, the school is having a Founders Day assembly in the Rathkeale Gymnasium, to celebrate Grant Harper's 40 years of teaching at Rathkeale.

After the assembly there will be a formal naming of a feature of the school in recognition of Grant's service followed by a function in the Archives Room at School House. The date remains dependant on the Wairarapa being at Covid Level 1.

Hopefully, you received our previous invitation, and reminder notice. On behalf of the Old Boys, I again warmly invite you to join us at the Assembly and the celebrations afterwards. It will be an afternoon rich in memories and a great opportunity to celebrate with Grant and other Old Boys.

At the Assembly, amongst the other speakers, Edward Cox has been asked to speak on behalf of the Old Boys. His task is to reflect on Grant's impact on our members as students past, how we experienced Grant Harper and the contribution he has made to students down through the decades. We would like your input into that story. Please send Edward your thoughts and memories about how Grant has shaped your experience of Rathkeale. How do you remember him as a teacher? Have you maintained contact with him since you left? Naturally, all good stories will be welcome (you can request anonymity if necessary!) A range of views is likely to make what is said far more representative of ROBA.

Please send anecdotes and reflections to edward.cox@gibsonsheat.com

Please RSVP to the school at principal@rathkeale.school.nz to assist with seating and catering. The suggested dress code for the function in the Archives Room is jackets.

Regards
ROBA Committee
